Summary: In 1295 a wonderworking icon was found near the city of Kursk, and was later named “Kursk Root Icon”. It had miraculous healing and protective powers. But woe would come to anyone who dared harm or destroy it.
The story takes place in recent time. A police unit is assigned to investigate a scandalous case – a bold theft of that same precious Wonderworking Kursk Root Icon of Our Lady of the Sign, one of the most ancient relics of the Orthodox Church. The expert team, led by the main character Mikhail Mikolaev, follow the thieves’ tracks, discovering that they are also up against bent cops and police corruption.
